Curriculum

Dr. Bernardo Froes, graduated the School of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo (USP) in 1986, winning at the time the Edmundo Vasconcelos Award for Best Surgery student. He finished his specialization in General Surgery at the University of Sao Paulo (USP) School of Medicine as well, in ‘87 and ‘88.

1988 was the year he was elected councillor of the Medical Council of the State of Sao Paulo. He spent the following 3 years, 1989 to 1991, completing his specialization in Plastic Surgery with Professor Ivo Pitanguy in Rio de Janeiro.

By the end of ‘91, he was named Specialist in Plastic Surgery, being approved at the Brazilian Plastic Surgery Society exams. Dr. Froes returned to his native Sao Paulo to open his private clinic and start his PhD in the Surgery Department of USP School of Medicine in ’92. He defended his thesis five years later and was approved with honors.
In 1998, he became certified member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery with the highest honors.

Since 1992, Dr. Froes is a guest professor and collaborator of the Surgery Department of USP’s School of Medicine teaching Surgery Technique and Experimental Surgery. He was approved in an open competition for the position of PhD Professor in 2000.

After 10 years and over 400 classes teaching Surgery Technique to students and residents and coordinating several courses, in 2003 he moved on to another subject close to his heart, choosing the discipline of Bioethics to teach at the same University.

Since his graduate days Dr. Froes has produced over 50 scientific papers, all published in medical magazines and presented in different Conferences. Many of them were co-written with Professor Ivo Pitanguy, focusing on face-lifting, breast augmentation, liposuction, nose surgery, and other procedures.

Dr. Froes belongs to a series of Brazilian and International medical societies, such as Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery, Federacion Iberoamericana de Cirurgia Plastica, and International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, among others.

He often appears in television interviews, newspapers and / or magazines stories throughout Brazil and has successfully been performing surgery on celebrities, models, entertainers, business executives, medical professionals, sports figures and many other patients for over 15 years.
